The Story of the Clan

How it all started

It was in 2004 when some guys met each other regularly in a couple of public Team Micro Arena games. These guys were Goggl, Schr4nZer and Cam-. They got along well with each other and finally decided to play together as a team. While getting better and better they met other guys who started to play with and versus them regularly.

The first time I met these guys, I was playing a 3on3 on the map Team Micro Arena Legends 2.7 versus them. It was a total ownage against us and i remember Cam was always waiting in front of our spawn area with his Dark Archon to mind control every single hero - and he was successful! After we lost I rejoined their game and tried again and again. That way we got to know each other and met again the next days, soon also teaming up and playing regularly.

Clan TMA is born

It was Goggl who finally had the idea to found a clan existing only for players who love the map Team Micro Arena. With this intention they created new accounts using the TMA-tag in front of their normal nicknames and also added a number at the end in order of joining. This way, TMA-Googl[1, TMA-Schr4nZer[2 and TMA-Cam[3 continued to play especially Team Micro Arena Legends 2.7 and it didn't take too long and TMA-Killroy[4 joined the clan.

First of all I wasn't too enthusiastic about this whole clan thing due to responsibilities and creating a new account. But now when it was the turn of the number five, I finally used the opportunity and also joined them by changing my nickname from VeNoM.5 to TMA-VeNoM[5. Soon after me TMA-Just-Be[6 followed and we played a lot of games improving our skills. Cam started to use the map editor and modified the map. He changed some basic things and definitly improved the gameplay of the map. Schr4nzer even created a website, we used the new channel tma and the community grew.

Success with new Members and Friends

Over the next months some more skilled players like TMA-Karas[7, TMA-Wuhjinuh[8 and TMA-Deathtrip[9 followed and we also met two very experienced guys who even played in a TMA tourney before. One of them - Apoc - joined our clan as TMA-Apoc[10 and later TMA-UnbeatBl[10. The other one - 4N.Phoenix - kept his original nick due to solidarity with his ex-clan. Anyway he became a basic part of our community and is until today.

It was about a year later when some members became inactive or started to play other maps. Cam created a whole new and very big TMA map and even a new website, but both were not adopted by the community and first differences inside the clan occoured. Around this time we also met some more skilled guys who didn't join but regularly played with us - by name IILLIILIILLIIL, yb.Waz, Tsuname, hupfgnom(bf), MortisRex, xkwasnypsotx and N4p4lmd3ath.

Short time before TMA_Kiez_Bruder had already joined us as well as TMA-elfelf[11, TMA-Koovi[12, TMA-Shorty[13 and TMA-Net[69. During this time TMA-Karas[7 inherited the position of the map modifier and also created a bot with the support of TMA_Kiez_Bruder. We changed our channel to op tma and the map got some more important additions which brought new life to it. There even was a tourney arranged by Apoc and we had a nice time while meeting more and more skilled TMA players. It was at this time when our clan had probably reached the peak level.

The Breakup

Unfourtunately the bigger we got the more problems occurred. Players joined the clan too fast and didn't play any games after they created an account. Some of the elite players got really cocky, taunting new players instead of teaching them. The formation of groups accompanied by the growing inactivity of some players finally broke the clan up. Even some good attempts - Goggl created a community forum and Karas developed a whole new TMA map which also wasn't adopted by the community - were not able to save the clan. Karas disappeared and also some other players haven't been seen again until today without any comment.

The Rebirth

However, the clan never really died! Some of us still regularly met at channel op tma and continued playing the latest version of the map, Team Micro Arena Legends 4.7. Again we met partly very skilled players. We decided not try to rebuild the clan as it was before, but taking the whole thing way more easy this time. New interested players were absolutly free to decide if they want to get a TMA-tag with or without a number or just hang around with us at op tma keeping their original nickname. Some new very talented guys joined the clan - TMA-Scrubs[17, TMA-tomorold[18, TMA-GoonSlayer[25 and especially TMA-Spin[37. Now the clan was officially alive again and due to our new attitude we found a lot of guys who regularly played the map with and against us - even pros like mYm.Raven and BrEaKdOwN[pg] regularly had some fun with us.

Some months later I decided to create a TMA map strongly based on air fights and more focused on the late game. However, this map wasn't played too long due to balance problems and too many changes from the original map. Instead of that we gathered all the suggestions we got by players and decided to modify the lastest version of 4.7. With these suggestions and advised by 4N.Phoenix, I created Team Micro Arena Legends 4.8 which featured especially some new heroes and two new terrain sets. We met new friends like ho.Reaf, I.Am.Alone, Jabbauz and the [bc.eu] and the BW-Clan and even some old friends returned - often with different accounts. This way, our channel op tma was filled with life again.

The Conclusion

Clan TMA exists for players which like to play Team Micro Arena. This is a core statement that never changed since the foundation in 2004. However, the attitude did change. At the beginning and during the following years, we went the usual way trying to create an elite clan consisting only of the best. But if you only go for the best, you will inevitably leave weaker players behind. This is a sad fact, particularly when it's about friendship. The intention of creating an elite clan failed and almost broke the clan up not only once.
When we realized that, we started to change the general intention of the clan. Today clan TMA is more, it became an open-minded community for all TMA players. Of course we are still looking for the very best players, but the others aren't ignored. They are supported by the more experienced guys at channel op tma and get all the information they need to become a strong TMA player on this website.

We hope with the help of our members, the site and our current version of Team Micro Arena Legends you feel well provided as a TMA player and will help us to keep the clan and the community alive and on the right path. TMA 4 life!
